ABOUT JORGE ZALSZUPIN

Jorge Zalszupin, born in 1922 in Warsaw, Poland, became a leading figure in Brazilian design and architecture after relocating post-World War II. Trained in European design at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he fused European sophistication with Brazilian vibrancy. Establishing L'Atelier in the 1950s, he crafted modern, elegant furniture using local materials like wood, reflecting Brazilian identity with a contemporary touch. Known for clean lines and harmonious wood-metal combinations, his pieces, like the 'Petalas' coffee table and 'Dinamarquesa' armchair, epitomize structural beauty and craftsmanship.
