Raised in a family of skilled furniture craftsmen, he received initial training at his father's furniture shop, the Atelier di Varedo. After studying Fine Arts at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera and architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, Borsani designed the Casa Minima project in 1933, earning acclaim for its Rationalist principles. Borsani continued collaborating with artists, notably Lucio Fontana, incorporating various artistic elements into furniture designs.
